Project
Image Slicing and Page Assembly
Assignment ::
For this project, due at the beginning of class on February 18th, finalize your site home page design from the previous project and bring it into ImageReady. Use ImageReady to slice your file, specifying both Image and No-Image areas of the design, optimize the images for file size and quality, and save your optimized images (File > Save Optimized As...; Format: Images Only).
Do not use or export the HTML page created by ImageReady.
Using Dreamweaver's Layout View (View > Table View > Layout View), create the basic layout structure of your page and reassemble the optimized images to match your initial design. Add HTML text and elements where necessary, and preview in a web browser. The final HTML layout should look reasonably similar to the original Photoshop designs.
Requirements ::
A HTML version of the home page from the previous class project. HTML pages should meet the criteria listed above, demonstrate thoughtfulness in image optimization, and show precision in image slicing and in Dreamweaver layout. Final HTML layout should look reasonably similar to the original Photoshop designs and display without significant visual errors when viewed in a web browser.
All file names should be meaningfully named and formatted for use on the web. Be sure to save your ImageReady file with your original slice pattern. The ImageReady file containing your slices and the local root folder of your site should be saved to the Data Drive at the beginning of class. (40 points)
